Maya Banks’ historicals are perfect when you want a romance filled with action that you can binge in one evening, good time guaranteed. I love the characters and their yearning (I might have cried too, so that always impact the ratings haha) honestly it was a fun time and that is all that matters
Alaric is my fave of the brothers. His love for Keeley...it kills me every time. I've read this over and over and seriously, I still freaking cry. Love this, definitely a keeper.

When Ewan McCabe cannot marry Rionna McDonald his brother Alaric steps in and travels to McDonald keep to cement the alliance. On his way there he is attacked with his men and then nursed by a woman living alone. The woman was once a McDonald - Keely McDonald - now outcasted by the Laird's wife. Keely is forcefully brought to McCabe's keep to nurse Alaric and become their healer. The more time Alaric and Keely spend together makes it harder for them to not fall in love.
What?! I totally thought this book would be the romance between Rionna and Alaric...a twist right in the beginning! I found Keely to be such a determined woman - to have to live on your own and exiled by her family and clan seems to have not taken away her spirit. Alaric and Keely's forbidden romance is quite sultry...I have to read book 3 next!

Seduction of a Highland Lass
4.5 Stars
Synopsis:
Fiercely loyal to his brothers and clan, Alaric McCabe is prepared to marry in order to cement the future of his people. But after being ambushed and left for dead, Alaric is saved by beautiful and courageous Keeley McDonald and finds it increasingly difficult to put aside his feelings for her. Betrayed by those she loved and trusted, Keeley has finally found the family she deserves but can she survive if Alaric chooses duty over love?
Review:
A truly lovely sequel. The story is sexy and heartwarming, and the characters are very appealing.
While I enjoy romances in which the hero and heroine are constantly fighting their attraction to each other, it is refreshing to read one in which the couple acknowledge their connection and the conflict is external to their relationship. Alaric is bound by his duty but never denies that he loves Keeley, and she is aware of his oath, accepts it and is willing to sacrifice for him. While this is a little annoying, it is also noble and consistent with their characterization. Alaric and Keeley’s romance is intense and their scenes together are sensual and steamy.
The forbidden love storyline is passionate, emotional and entertaining. It never feels forced or implausible, and readers should be prepared to cry all over the pages at the end, I know that I did.
Rionna and Caelen’s book is next. She is fast shaping up to be a kick butt heroine and he is my favorite type of hero – dark, brooding and tortured. Their relationship should be explosive and I’m really looking forward to it.

Highland love story. A man takes off to marry a lass he's not interested in but will do it for his clan. Along the way, he receives a life threatening injury. However, an angel lady saves him.
3.5 Stars, it's like my subconscious knew to hold off on this book because it was cheesy. I'd read a lot of Romance novels but this one really had me cringing. I know things happen fast but I just didn't like how fast this one went. I know the trilogy is a lot about the McCabe clan but there was a lot of stuff about external people which seemed a bit odd to me. I'll still read the last novel, but still will probably put off forever again.

Thought when finished: Damn you Maya Banks--I just cried darn it!
What I Loved: This was my favorite story in the trilogy. I cried, laughed, went "holy moly that was hot", and fell in love with Alaric and Keeley. It was fantastically written and told! The thing that struck me the most was how emotionally tugging the final chapters were.
What I Liked: Getting to see all the McCabe Brothers and their loves. I love the McCabe Clan and they really shined in this story.
What left me wanting? I was craving Caelen and Rionna's story!

I didn't think I'd like this book. I read a few reviews before I started it.. and I shouldn't have done that. I went into it with a negative attitude and it took me days to actually start.
I loved Keeley! I loved her more than I loved Mairin from the first book. And I defiantly loved Alaric more than Ewan. Did I think it was kind of shitty that they decided to have a relationship when Alaric was pretty much engaged? Sure but the thing is Keeley went to his room knowing that there was 0% chance of it going beyond that night. I think the relationship between the characters grew beautifully. I just really enjoyed the couple. Alaric had a few jerky moments and I think that Keeley was a stronger character by far but I still loved them together.
I also fell completely in love with Caelen. I am almost afraid to read his book and be disappointed. He was absolutely amazing in this book.
