Meh. I liked Alaric MUCH more than Ewan (1st book), and there were points that I enjoyed, but the book lacked the political intrigue that the other books had.
The only reason this book is not 5 stars is I just couldn’t get over how they had an easy solution to Aleric getting out if his marriage to better the alliance. However, I loved everything else about their story. It was filled with really good angst. The narrator was fantastic and I recommend the audiobook!
Was excited to read this, but it's insta love and when he is hurt. If makes no sense to me especially when the FMC knows that he is practically engaged to me married. She keeps calling him warrior even when she knows his name and it's not really appealing to me.

very touching I teared up towards the end a few times... but there was a happy ending ... I'm excited for the final book on the trilogy I think Caelen is perfectly matched w his heroine
The word scowl (or some variation of) is used about 40 times! In some chapters up to 3 times. It’s a historical romance….I don’t care about historical inaccuracies, or melodramatic dialogue, I’m here for an easy read, but that kind of repetition of a word reflects poor editing.

Yes yes yes! This was soo much better than the first book in the series. Much less of the misogynistic idiocy... I loved Alaric and Keeley! The adoration, the pining - this book has it in heaps! And now I'm really excited for Caelen's book.

This book was so damn good. I liked it even more than the first. After reading Maya's erotic books this was so refreshing. I loved it so much more. I have my own copy of the book and I'm keeping it! Excelent!
