Wow this was frustrating. The characters are all self-absorbed, vapid, snobs who don’t communicate with anyone and lie to themselves most of all. It’s especially frustrating having the EXACT same type of character in a multi-POV book because I forget who’s actually speaking. They all just blend together. What should be a relatively minor (and obvious) revelation takes more than 200 pages and the payoff sucks. I can appreciate a cliffhanger but this book was all cliffhanger and no resolution.

The first book started as an intriguing, dark academia, adult Harry Potter meets Hunger Games and devolved into pretty people hate-boning or just hating each other. The tiny amount of curiousity I feel will not be enough to wait for the next in th series.
