I enjoyed the first two books, but I really just couldn’t vibe with this one. It felt like it was walking the line between wanting to be dark and wanting to be family friendly. I felt like it needed to just choose a side

Really overall a great series. I think the first was the strongest and my favorite.

The world building in this series was really good and I liked it a lot. It built up the world and didn't infodump a ton of new information at once that was hard to understand. All of the characters were likable and I grew attached to all of them.

This series will break your heart and then hold your hand and put your heart back together with you.

3/5🌶️, MF, UF, angels, last in a trilogy, must be read in order, dual narration, Libby audiobook

This is the final book in an angel urban fantasy series that finishes the HEA for the couple in the first book. Unfortunately, I wasn’t a fan of this book. Many of my issues with this book were the same issues I had with the first - lots of extra details about clothes, shoes and hair (the number of times the FMC complains about her unruly hair is astronomical - maybe if she stopped brushing her “curly locks” it wouldn’t be as “unruly”). There was also a very large portion of the story dedicated to a couple mystery/suspense plot lines that didn’t really capture me. They resolved very quickly for how much of the story they took up, or resolved in the background which I found weird. I also found the romance between the MCs suffered because of the suspense storyline. I had to check back a couple of times because I felt like the story skipped an important relationship milestone (first kiss), but nope. It was barely mentioned. I wish more had been done with the angelic politics and second lives and soul mates instead of human trafficking and assassination attempts. I also didn’t like the MCs. They were so young. The FMC was pretty vapid while the MMC was kind of a jerk. So this story was a big miss for me, unfortunately.

Third and final book in the Angels of Elysium series Starlight follows Naya and Adam, the good girl and bad boy of the fletchings.

The world building in this series is very unique and I enjoy it a lot but this was the weakest book in the series and relied too heavily on development in previous books. The main couple didn’t spend enough time together for me to fully be convinced of the force of their love towards each other.
SpoilerI felt like the book didn't do enough to convince me of the romance between Naya and Adam because it convinced me of Leigh and Jarod's love in the first book. This didn't work for me because it is made clear both in this book and the second book that their memories are gone (especially for Adam) and they are for all intents and purposes different people now. Yes they are soul halves and that would explain the instant attraction and pull they had but I wanted them to spend more time with each other and actually know who the other person is.

I enjoyed this book much more than the first two. However there were some aspects that annoyed me. Primarily the whole crew taking on a dangerous mission as though they are super heroes or have powers. It was all so ridiculous. The plans that they concocted were so inadequate. Or Adam choosing to get wasted in the midst of an important mission…he is a terrible team leader.
Shame on Dov for sending these kids out to save the world when they were clearly so ill prepared.
All that aside, the story was action packed and entertaining

It’s no secret how much I love Olivia’s writing. Her creativity for an engaging plot, amazing world building, and descriptive writing makes her one of my top authors. So I’m sure it comes as zero surprise when I say this trilogy finale delivered.
Olivia has said several times that this book took a lot from her, and she left everything on the pages for us readers.

Adam and Naya had the most glorious angst between them. Seriously. I lived for it. I loved every interaction, especially the beginning of their journey.

I’m not ready to let this series go but alas, I must.

This book needed to be 200 pages shorter. The beginning was so boring.

I’ll be honest, this book fell short for me and I was incredibly disappointed. I just couldn’t find myself to care for Nyla and Adam the same way I did for Leigh and Jarod. The first 70% of the book also felt irrelevant and long winded. I was hoping to love the series wrap up but this was not the case.
