Awww I really loved this book. The storylines just fit perfectly and the romance wasn’t cringey. I also loved the ending

I love romance and I love murder mysteries. This is not really either of those. Maybe a weird romance where the girl doesn’t know how to love?

Meh.

This has been suggested at bookclub a while back. We didn't choose it that month, but I was looking for an audio book for February, and thought I'd give it a try for Valentine's day. I don't like romance, generally, but this seemed like it might have an interesting spin on the genre, so I gave it a try.

It was not interesting.

There's no real plot. The characters are boring. I found the protagonist obnoxious and emotionally immature for someone in their 30's. Lots of silly banter, characters that are introduced and play no real part, lots of name-dropping of contemporary bands/songs for no real reason. No actual killing and/or serial killers, which would've made it a lot better. Also out of no where the protagonist is suddenly described as "fat" and it made no senes to me. I think it was the authors attempt at making her unconventional, but it was weird.

It's not the worst thing I ever read (listened to), but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone, either.

I read this book in one knotless hair braiding and I just sat there grinning like an idiot!!

I thought this was more true crime forward. It’s really not. Didn’t hate it but I didn’t love it either

3.5 stars rounded up to 4.

Cute romance that takes place in what sounds like central FL (this makes me a little biased) with an emotionally mature male love interest and a woman who is closed off + serial killer references.

Adorable. Cute. Fun. So fun. But wouldn’t it be more fun if she legit thought she was falling in love w a serial killer???
lighthearted fast-paced

I’m not too mad at this one! Yes, Phoebe is a little obnoxious and maybe the author could’ve lightened up on the Throwing in Gen Z Humor and Slang Where it Wasn’t Needed™️, but I loved Sam a lot. Very quick, easy, and light read
