Phoebe recently lost her father and how is currently living in his house until she and her brother can get it cleaned up and ready to sell, but Phoebe thinks the neighbour next door might be a murderer.

As someone who’s a pretty big fan of true crime and serial killers, I really wanted to read this book, plus it had an appealing cover so where could I go wrong? I love that’s there’s references to actual serial killers, it makes it that much more enjoyable for me.

The first thing I noticed when I started to read this book, was that the author added a page for trigger warnings and I love that! I haven’t seen too many books that actually do that.

Now, her obsession over her neighbour being a serial killer, is a little much, even for me. But, I understand the paranoia.

Overall, I really liked this book! I liked the slow burn romance and of course all of the serial killer references. This book has made me go through all of the emotions.

This book might become one of my favourites!

Okay, I enjoyed the actual heck out of this book. It was lighthearted, it was funny, it was witty, the characters and their interactions with each other are funny and felt genuine…
And I am officially obsessed Phoebe! I loved how the author saw something in the pop culture trendiness of true crime content and tapped into that and made that a part of this book because I’d made the character of Phoebe so much more relatable

The reason I’m not rating it higher is because, despite some of the tough/traumatic situations that the characters went through in their past (Phoebe’s parents’ somewhat volatile relationship and divorce and how that affected her growing up, Etc.), I felt like there could have tapped into that slightly deeper to add even more of an emotional depth. Because I did feel like, while the characters were all fun and relatable, we only got to know these characters at a surface level. It left me wanting even more out of the characters and the story.

Still, this was a fun read and I still suggest picking it up for a quick read.

• had sooo much potential but was not properly executed
• felt as if certain parts were dragged on
• I did not like Phoebe but I loved Sam <3
• 2.5 stars
ps. the cover gets 5/5 stars

While this concept has a lot of potential and could have been really funny, the execution was not there for me. I feel like beyond the serial killer obsession, we knew pretty much nothing about the main characters and they knew even less about each other, which just made me not care about their relationship.

Some people hated on this book HARD. I just felt like it was a guilty pleasure read not to be taken too seriously.
