The Fable series (and these side series) are some of my favorite graphic novels. The stories are usually fun, and the artwork is really good, especially in this one. Loved it!

Does every read fairy stories and automatically imagine medieval? I do. And then I was surprised by a character remembering the 1960s.
I found this really captivating, however not as much so as Fables.
I'm still going to read the second!

I enjoyed this but was disappointed that both storylines in a book with the line 'the women of fables in a series all of their own' still managed to have a man as the focal point.

A spin-off from his Fables series. I think it could be followed without reading the main series, but I am sure a lot more would be gotten out of it after reading the main series.

Fables is one of my favorite things ever... but I'm just not quite sold yet on this new series set in the Fables world. Volume 1 of the Fairest series focuses on Briar Rose, the Snow Queen, and Ali Baba. Weird combination, right? This book is a fun addition, but didn't feel as strong as the books in the main Fables series. Still, I'm willing to stick with it and see where it goes. My understanding is that all of the Fables women will get a spotlight in this series -- can't wait to see who's next.

Maybe a little better than Fables. We'll see.

Not great, not terrible. The short story at the end was great, though - I would have loved to see that get a longer treatment

I'm still reading Fables, so there were a few hints of spoilers in this plot. Nothing earth-shattering, but "Huh, I guess that happened." I particularly enjoyed the word play about "Fairest" actually having to do with justice rather than beauty.
