Thank you to L.B. Dunbar, Sarina Bowen, Jenn Gaffney and the rest of the World of True North team for the advanced reader copy of Studfinder, the fifth story in the Busy Bean series.

Another L.B. Dunbar title in the Busy Bean series. I adored the first story she wrote in this world. I mentioned in my review how much I loved the bestie side character, Rita. Just our luck that Dunbar returns to this world to write Rita’s story.

This is an ARC review. All opinions are solely my own.

Studfinder by L.B. Dunbar is a book in the Sarina Bowen Busy Bean world. L.B. Dunbar will ALWAYS be a one click author for me.

Rita is introduced in a previous book in this series. She's a no-nonsense lawyer who has been through some stuff. But when she meets Jake her priorities shift. These two have an instant chemistry.

This is a hot and swoony over 40 romance that is serious and fun. There are issues that are handled with care but not sugarcoated.

I will always read L.B. Dunbar, and will re-read L.B. Dunbar.

ARC received for an honest review

Yes! A book that has characters closer to my age than younguns who I could have birthed!

And I loved that we get mature problems and issues, and mature reactions - thank god there was none of this stupid miscommunciation crap we get in so many books.

I want a silver fox like Jake in my life.

And go Rita - pulled in so many directions, but goes after what she wants.

She and Jake are both fighting their pasts whilst trying to forge a future.

They are cute and adorable and I just loved them so much.

Another great addition to the World of True North / Busy Bean collection

The story ends up packing quite a punch but i struggled to get drawn in at the start.
The Hero was charged and served time for an arson crime he didn't commit.
The heroine lost her fiance in the fire.
When the secrets are revealed, they realize the connection they have to work out if they can overcome their issues.
No intimate scenes other than the heroine and Hero.
HEA.

I flew by this one really fast. From the banter between Rita and Jake at the very beginning, I knew these two are going to be fire together. Their story definitely captivated me. There were a lot of things going on that got me intrigued to read their story until the very end. I loved the aspects of redemption and second chances of the story and how LB Dunbar lighten it up but still heartfelt. It wasn't a heavy story. I loved it and absolutely enjoyed it.

Do you want to read a book with all the emotions? A story that will make you laugh cry and sigh? How about a book with characters that have actual thoughts and ideas? If you answered yes to these questions then Studfinder is the book for you.

Take these direct quotes as an example:

“Good people make bad decisions all the time.” ~ Rita

“Come alive for me.” ~ Jake

“I would recover again, as I once told Jake. I always do.” ~ Rita

“...desire for another person’s faith.” ~ Second to love, faith and understanding is all we need.

Rita is a strong female character who is just living life after a tragic accident. Jake is a strong male character also living life after a tragic accident of his own. These two run hot from their very first meeting. But their worlds collide after the discovery of their pasts.

Dunbar has written another over 40 sexy story for us to fall in love with.
