Oh my gosh.. I did not expect any of that! Well, I expected the dragons because of the cover but not everything else!

A library at night hosts parties for fae creatures.. and Morgan just happens to stumble upon it when a mysterious man calls her about a missing book. This mysterious man turns out to be a God to the fae creatures and a dragon ! Accidentally sucked into the fae world because of a fertility ritual lasting 30 days and hearing a mysterious voice, Morgan is brought to help find the traitor stealing from the dragon god.

I like Morgan’s character. She is slightly frightened of the new world, but also has no filter. So she out right tells the dragon god when he is being an ass and everyone just stares at her like she has lost her mind. But he doesn’t really respond other than a grunt here and there. Her best friend Lexical is the perfect balance of bubbly yet bad ass serious. Lex comes from a warrior clan so she has this other side of her that is super protective of her friend. Mika being introduced also was a great fit. He never sees Morgan as different just because she was human. He was genuine and wanted to help her become stronger.

I honestly thought that she was going to be the human to soften up the hard grumpy dragon, Drager. But then the brothers are introduced and I was then hoping for a little RH.. a little let down but I can’t wait for book 2! There is so much to learn about this vast world and the different lands that I really hope there is more than just two books (even though at the end I’d this one it says book 2 is the last)..

The FMC works at a private library. One night she gets a call that a book is missing. She rushes over and discovers that fae are real. She accidentally gets trapped in a mating spell with the dragon leader. Afterwords he takes her to his land as a “guest” to help find the thief. Her best friend and her end up hiding at a school while all 5 dragon leaders meet.

I'm a 33yo woman, love fantasy romance/smut/dark romance.. anything in or around that type of genre is for me. However...this book made me cringe. It felt immature, forced and just overall weird. The blurb held so much potential. The chapters are short and sweet. But by chapter 17, I'm just laughing and not because it's funny. I just think that while smut is involved, this is not a story for my age group. I've read too much other smut/fantasy romance that's been done right, in my eyes. I'm sure the author is wonderful,  but this was not the book for me.

I know everyone has different tastes/opinions, but for me...I'm not quite sure how this book is rated the way it is. It's...really bad. I had to DNF at 23%. I usually try and make it to 100 pages or more, but I just couldn't do it with this. I'm usually one to not DNF books, either. I usually stick it out with hope it'll pick up and improve and I'm usually happy I made that decision.  But I really just had to make the call to put this one down.

Pretty interesting

Gilded Wings was a pretty interesting read. There was a lot of detail, but I felt like it lagged quite a bit in the story. It wasn't until the end that it actually was more than lots of background about everything. I will be interested in reading the second book, though, to find out what happens.

I can't believe how shook this whole thing made me.

When starting this, I didn't know what to think at first. At first, when I was reading this, I couldn't stand the FMC. Mainly after
Spoiler she found out her bestie was actually Fae and she felt 'betrayed' by her.
Like girl, please - you need an ally cause it sure as hell ain't Drager at least not right away.

I will admit that it felt to me like it was a bit slow once Morgan got to the Faerie realm. She was too busy trying to find ways to piss off Drager and being forced to go to school and not get killed for anything else to happen.

For some reason, my pea brain didn't know this was a dragon shifter story until after the rest of the brothers were introduced. Once they were introduced, ohhh boy did things slowly start to pick up.

I am clawing at the walls waiting for the second one to come out.
