The MMC says that things that should make the FMC afraid for her life when they first meet. He says he's a sun god, he glows, he's obviously not human yet she talks back to him and uses sarcasm with him. Then she comments to herself that she should be scared of him but he's so sexy that she can't help herself from thinking sexually about him.
She has no self-preservation skills and I can't get past that.

This was.. definitely a book!!

The first 40-50% was very tropey and kind of boring, but interesting enough to keep me reading. Around 60-70% it got much more fast-paced and I became more invested.
The language in general was a little too modern for me, with a lot of "besties," "dudes," and "bros."
I understand contextually it made sense since she was human and grew up in the modern world, but it was still off-putting.

The characters were very cliche and the story was predictable but enjoyable. I had a lot of fun reading it and connecting the dots (even if they were kind of obvious.)

The FMC, Morgan, was a bookworm which obviously made her very relatable. It was amusing watching her interact with a fantasy world as someone who had spent most of her life with her nose in a fictional fantasy world. She would point out tropes as they happened and it was pretty funny. I liked that though she was kind of shy and she was a fish out of water, she would always reach a point where she said, "I have to do this for myself," or "I cannot allow myself to be treated this way."
She often stood up for herself which was good because I cannot standdd pathetic/meek FMCs.

Drager, the MMC, was very.. interesting. His character seemed very cut and paste. What was going to happen felt very obvious from the beginning. But I really can't go more into that without spoiling it lol.

Overall this book was good, but forgettable. Fun in the moment but I probably won't think of it now that I've finished it.

Tropes if you're interested:
- fated mates
- touch her and die
- human x powerful fae
- bookworm fmc
- dragon shifter

This is a delayed review but I’m so behind on them so uh well.

I really enjoyed this one! I think the biggest reason it wasn’t a five star for me was Dragar the MMC bothered me. He was def possessive and spicy, yada yada but I also felt like he was super dismissive.

Essentially without giving too much away the FMC works at a library and stumbles upon a fae party one night and is subjected to a ritual that is important in their culture. There is some mystery involved and she is essentially forced to come back to their realm to help solve it.

She is sent to this academy in which her roommate from the human realm accompanies her (come to find out she is fae). We then meet dragar’s brothers.

I’m super interested to see how the second one goes, I am pretty salty that it’s not out yet

tbh this book to me felt so rushed, i feel like i didn’t really understand fae nature in this much and didn’t get a good foundation to start it off
