Gilded Wings is the first book in the Fallen Fae Gods series.

This is fast paced from the start.

Morgan is a librarian for a private collector that she doesn’t know anything about. After work she receives a call from the mysterious owner of the library to say a special edition book is missing.

She decides to go to the library to see if she can locate it. Enter Drager, a Sun God, who we later find out is also a dragon shifter. Morgan is attracted to Drager from the minute she heard his voice on the phone. Its not long before things get hot between them.

We get a lot of Morgan's inner dialogue from her which at some times is hilarious.

When Morgan finds out her friend and roommate Lexie is also fae and part of the same realm as Drager, she feels betrayed and needs to learn to trust her again.

Drager takes Morgan to his home as he wants her to help him find out who stole the book. Only she can help as she heard a distinctive female voice from behind the door of the room (that they are not allowed to enter) when they return the special edition books.

Morgan fits in better in the fae realm than a human should. One of Drager's brothers Zahak seems highly interested in her for some reason. His ally, Astra, a rare mythical sabre becomes Morgan's protector.

We are left with Drager and Zahak vying for Morgan's attention. Who will win? Will it be both?

We are also left on a cliffhanger.

I received this as an ARC.

This is the first book in an enchanting fae/dragon romantasy series that propels readers into an enthralling narrative where a routine library job transforms into a mesmerizing adventure. The story unfolds as protagonist Morgan receives a disruptive late-night call, leading her into the captivating realm of dragons and faeries. Eve skillfully crafts a world rich in detail and political intrigue. Despite gradually unveiling the plot, the book establishes a strong foundation for the series. Morgan's relatable character, marked by sarcasm and a compelling connection with Drager, contributes depth to the tale. This story showcases Eve's talent for blending unique elements, such as a secret library, dragons, and faeries, into an enticing narrative, and I am eager for the sequel.

4.5/5⭐️

Wow, that ending… there was so much surprising information. I can’t wait for the second book. Honestly, I enjoyed this book a bunch from its characters all the way to its plot. However, it’s not a 5 star because the beginning was really slow and confusing, but it got much better later on. I also couldn’t tell if this book will be a why choose with dual lovers or just one lover. But other than that, I enjoyed everything and ate that book up pretty quickly if I do say so myself.

This book has given me very mixed thoughts.

The premise behind the world and the plot were solid; fae, dragon shifters, mysterious enemy, brooding brother? Check, check, check. I’m not convinced it was executed to the absolute best it could have been and I did find everything was really simplified which isn’t usually my vibe but did make for very quick reading.

The FMC was fairly likeable but my real issue with her was how easily she just agreed to everything? What would have given any sane person a mental break she just goes alrighty then let’s get on with this fertility dance ritual mr complete stranger. In books I can usually forgive this trait but it just felt so ridiculous by the end.

Saying that I will probably read the next one after the introduction of Zahak who was entirely the best thing in this book.

cringey dialogue for a majority of the book made it hard to get through and that's the tip of the iceberg for this one
