I really liked "No Longer Human", particularly the style of writing and its utter bluntness. The protagonist was not likeable, and there was a sense of despair and frustration with how he lived his life, but I really enjoyed understanding the internal thoughts of such a character that ultimately resulted in how he develops (or stagnates, in this instance). I found the first part to be the most compelling, but the whole novel was still interesting and offered a lot of room for considering addiction, mental health struggles, and societal attitudes towards those dealing with these problems.
