this book got me gripping my toes by the end … i have so much love for these characters

Book 17 Of 2024, rating 5/5

Part one of this book was a lot of building up to the second part, which kept the anticipation for the upcoming war high, the switching between povs is always a good way to keep my attention and excitement for certain povs to come back around. Alein and Fenrys I LOVE that they were always there for each other, and got through it together, fenrys is a BADASS for doing what he did for Alein, and then she gave him LIFE right after he sacrificed himself for her, oh my, amazing. And ofc Rowan, Lorcan, Gavriel and elide being the TRIBE that I love to see rescuing alein. And ofc Dorian with the thirteen was amazing, love that we’re exploring the crochans more too. Lysandra and Aedions pov was kinda sad bc it’s all war and battle but it kept me on my toes and excited for the eventual reunion of everyone together for the war. Aedions decisions and thought processes kinda bugged me but it was war so being pessimistic was understandable, however he did NOT need to treat lysandra like that AT ALL. OMG also alein saving Anielle like that was INSANE, she is just the baddie tht I love and aspire to be

Part two of this book kept me in almost constant tears. Dorian going into Morath BY HIMSELF, getting the third key, then mind tricking MAEVE WAS CRAZY, and then TAKING OUT MORATH BY HIMSELF, INSANE!!! Actually crazy, I love Dorian so much. And then him and alein forging the lock and then MR. NAMELESS SHOWS UP, omg omg sobbing, I never even realized that through all of the books, such a good plot line, and then the GODS BETRAYING ALEIN, should’ve totally expected that, and then alein falling between worlds and SEEING RHYS AND FEYRE OMG OMG, LOVEEEEE THAT CAMEO, and then her powers not being what they were before broke my heart, but it just adds to how amazing she is that she continues to fight and succeed even without her powers!! She is the loml fr, although they def COULDVE waited until after the war to forge the lock, I digress. When the stag lord of the north led them on the quickest path to get to terresan was AMAZING, we love the little folk. And omg everything happening in lysandra and Aedions pov was crazy, and then the THIRTEEN OMG, THE MF THIRTEEN COMMITTING TO THE YIELDING AND BREAKING MY HEART AND MANONS HEART OMG I CANNOT BELIEVE THAT. AFTER EVERYTHING THEYVE BEEN THROUGH TOGETHER MY GOD. AND THEN GAVRIEL SACRIFICING HIMSELF FOR AEDIONS SAFETY, HE DID NOT HAVE TO DO THAT. I WAS SO UPSET HE DIDNT GET THE CHANCE TO BE THE FATHER HE WANTED TO BE TO AEDION. and then yrene being the savior and defeating ERAWAN WAS CRAZY, live laugh love yrene fr. And alein finally getting the chance to defeat Maeve but letting FENRYS do it because she’s taken so much from him was so respectable, I love those two together yet again. OMG AND LITTLE EVANGELINE, this little girl, when alein was recognized as the queen of terresan because Evangeline HELPED WIN HER BACK HER TERRITORY FROM DARROW OH MY GOD. I could cry rn thinking about that line. AND THEN WHEN ALEINS BEING CROWNED AND THE LITTLE PEOPLE SHOW UP AND GOVE HER HER OTHER CROWN, we LOVE THE LITTLE PEOPLE FR

Im sure there’s more that I was freaking out about this book and just can’t remember rn, but there is absolutely nothing about this book that I didn’t love. All of the pieces coming together and fitting into place was spectacular, and genius and I can’t get over it. I actually can’t believe I’m not gonna read anything else about alein and Rowan and the court in their own books, fr upsets me but I love that most of them got their happy ending, and in my mind manon and Dorian also got their happy ending, so yes everyone ended up okay. So sad this series is over but I’m so glad I read it.

“Fireheart, why do you cry?”
Because this book is over and I do not know what to do

10 stars. Say no more.

Roller coaster of emotions wrapped in 900+ pages of this book.
The surprises, the twists in the story.
Its heart breakingly good! My heart goes to the Thirteen and the scene of Aelin and Fenrys in the forest.
I ended up sleeping at 2am because I just can't put the book down. Its brilliant. Its amazing!
And I think we had a Rhys x Feyre cameo
