Thoroughly enjoyed this. Had a few laugh out louds but not as many as I had anticipated. Got drawn to this in the store before realising who the author was- I had seen her on instagram. Does discuss good topics on overthinking and helps realise that everyone does it in some form. Would recommend for a laugh.

Maybe because I don’t listen to her or

I
didn’t
get
the appeal of this book. I genuinely don’t know what the point of this book was and I’m disappointed that I read it. I kept thinking that it was gonna get better or at least I would discover some kind of beneficial portion to this book, but that part never showed up

I enjoyed this a lot! There were a few places where it seemed like they’d edited some words into a US version which was jarring as it was a first person narrative.
I have followed Hayley on TikTok for a while and was looking forward to her book coming out. I chose to listen to it on Audible as it is quite a short read / listen at around 5.5 hours and is narrated by Hayley herself.
The first 2/3 of the book are similar to the content that Hayley puts out on her social media and it was...fine. I didn't find myself laughing out loud or learning anything new but it was interesting to hear how intrusive thoughts have impacted Hayley's life; however this is something you probably already have an insight into if you follow her.
The last third has a very different tone to the rest of book. Hayley talks about the gradual loss of her Dad and it comes across as very real, vulnerable and relatable. I did struggle with the tone change as I wasn't expecting it so late in the book and I do think this could have been worked in better so there wasn't such a dramatic shift. I did actually prefer the more real and vulnerable chapters of the book.
If you do decide to listen to this one then be prepared to hear a lot 'characters' such as brain, uterus etc. It didn't bother me as much as some of the other reviewers but I don't feel that the disembodied voices really added anything either.

Felt like listening to my own thoughts and life but way funnier. Laughed out loud a ton. And through the humor, also very healing and makes me feel a little less alone on my experiences.

This book is like talking to a friend. It's not self-help or some serious non-fiction but a very relatable book that helps you realise that you are not alone with your thoughts and worries. The audible narration by the author itself was brilliant.

It's a fun lighthearted memoir. I did not find much in the way of guidance or tips.
