The ending was funny.
That is the only thing I can say about this book. Hopelessly bored from start to finish.

A well-told tale with a strong voice. I was surprised by the abruptness of the climactic scene, but it actually fits better with the rest of the story than does the tear-jerker Disney version. I'm glad I read it.
not heartbreakingly sad, but definitely tugged at my heartstrings. 8.5/10.
I loved this book! The imagery was lovely and I feel like it really captured life in Texas during this time period. I felt so connected to Travis and especially Yeller. I knew the ending, since I’d seen the Disney movie, but it made me cry nonetheless. Such a good book!
First book I read in 6th grade. It was probably better than I remember it, but I know it's pretty sad, so my memories might have to do. (6)

Old Yeller by Steven Polson - The summer I read all the books the animals died was a rough one (still have no clue how you accidentally read like 6 books in a row where an animal dies, but I do have terrible luck lol). But this was an excellent coming of age story! Happy Reading!
I will forever love this book. Usually I avoid re-reading books with sad endings, but this one can't deter me.
I love this book so much! It breaks my heart every time, but never will that make me not love it.
Hey Michelle, remember that time you read the entirety of Old Yeller while waiting to be covid tested the day after Christmas? This was that time.
Yep, just like the movie, the big yellow dog has a tragic and sad ending in the book. I just wanted to read it for myself.
