So boooored. I ended up skipping ahead to confirm what I already knew would happen at the end and DNFd. I don't care that this book was very similar to other books. I care that it was boring. The characters were as tasteless as paste. I literally JUST closed the book and I do not remember names.

If you like ACOTAR’s abysmal character development and erotica marketed as smut for young adults then you’ll love this equally mediocre book with side characters who exist only to make the dull heroine come back to life (rip Heather, you just weren’t important enough). There were so many hole plots that it’s only inevitable that the author put all her writing skills into the sex scenes to fill out Remi’s hole. People say it’s ‘slow burn’ but Remi falls in love with Hale in the first chapter because he’s just ‘oh gosh darn handsome but no I must hate him for the PLOT’.
And Remi practically died 2x. Take a hint girl. The fact that Hale and Remi had sex after a probably traumatic and sad scene is the pinnacle of what this author thinks good relationships look like. Remi has a ‘fae’ look that she has been struggling to remove for 13 years? Don’t worry it’s immediately solved with a good dick because the author decided the book was getting too long.

This was a hate read and I’ve read fan fiction with more chemistry and fleshed out characters.

Yes. Yes. And again, yes.
This was superb, amazing, fantastic.
Seriously, since I started I couldn’t stop. A fantasy novel that is kinda hard to understand because, duh, fantasy with crazy original world building being thrown at your face, but not once was I bored or thought this was horrible.
Every singe character, from Heather to Bri, to Rua and even that cat we see in the first chapter have my heart.
This found family and friendship made me tear up at times, but I was also chewing my nails, wanting to know what would happen next.
It has been a while since I read such a gripping fantasy. I’m 10000% jumping into the next one.

Nothing new but easily readable story. Story line is a bit predictable, but interesting enough to keep going. Characters are good but plot moves a bit too fast to get to know them (and at times makes the main character seem very self centered).

A pretty enjoyable time. Plot was solid. What drags this book down is the pacing. I felt like things were moving so fast at points that I wasn't able to sit and get invested in the characters. Spice wasn't overdone, but what is there is pretty good.

Overall just a good time.
