I quite enjoyed this. I have been meaning to read it for a long time and I think I can see why it is one of the classics. It paints such a clear picture of increasing mental distress in a very very short amount of time. Which is definitely not possible by everyone. It’s weird and creepy and makes me very interested in the rest of Gilman’s work and life in general.

A little "fucked up if true" story that's possibly about gas lighting? But almost certainly not about good mental health care. Ending was slightly less shocking than I expected it to be, so -.25 stars.
