Fast paced fantasy romance with fated mates, forced proximity (one bed), prophecy, touch her and die, and discovery of powers.

I really enjoyed this book. The FMC, Adeena, was strong and stabby, and the MMC, Dreyden, was possessive, protective and definitely swoon-worthy.

The book was full of action from start to finish, while there was still time for character and relationship development. I loved the flirty banter between Adeena and Dreyden. And the bathtub scene šŸ”„

The world of the book was really interesting and the writing style made me feel like I was in the middle of the action. I can’t wait to learn more about Adeena’s powers.

This book was told in Adeena’s POV and from what I’ve heard the next book will also have Dreyden’s POV. In my opinion the single-POV storytelling worked well for the plot.

Can’t wait to read book 2!

ARC Rewrite review

Not sure if I proceeded with this one because I liked it, or if I just wanted to read the spicy scenes

Wow, just wow. This book has everything I love in a book - fae, a bad*** female, a ā€œtouch her and dieā€ love interest, and one bed trope!! Are you kidding me?? I flew through this book in a day and I am already dying for the next book. I was on the edge of my seat throughout the entire book and I am so excited to see what Adeena and Dreyden do next.

I am reviewing an ARC of the newest release. I was able to get into this book rather quickly! It was a quick read, which I was definitely in need of after my recent 600+ page reads. The story had elements that seem to have taken inspiration from other fantasy stories. I am eager to read the second book in the series to see how the story develops!

I read this as an ARC reader for the updated version.

Definite 4-4.5/5 stars.

Dreyden is life. Adeena grew on me. I was honestly unsure of her age but she seemed young but trained to be a hunter. She is a badass, that’s for sure.

I enjoyed the plot and the romance and the smut was well written.

I had the opportunity to read the rewritten ARC for this book.

This book was a fun quick read. The story was entertaining. While it had the usual high fae, royalty, fated-mates, magic, etc. aspects we've all come to love there are little differences and twists/turns that make it its own.

The book is fast-paced in many ways. Starting in Chapter 1 where you are instantly thrown into the chaos of this world and an attack on a human village by fae. This book follows the journey of a human, Adeena, as her village is attacked, and she is the only survivor because she is chosen by the Kings Guard to present as a "gift." She fortunately is saved, but an unexpected ally. They join and work together to prepare and fight for a bigger battle to come.

The story does jump through time (another part of it being fast paced), which I actually do appreciate. Instead of all the events happening with days of each other, it takes weeks. But you aren't stuck reading pages of boring details that really don't matter when it comes to the overall story. This jump through time allows for the understanding that time is passing but keeping to the bigger plan.
