This book was very dark for me. It’s definitely not for everyone. I was hooked from the very beginning even though I wasn’t sure if I was going to like it. It was an okay read, Before I read chapter 28 I went and read Satan’s Affair and I did not like that book at all it just was too gory for me but I did finish it. The characters were written in a good way. I love Zade and Addie. But I wish zade wasn’t her stalker and met her the right way.
Damnnnn ended on a cliffhanger of addie getting a kidnapped.
This is a kinky fucked up story of addie moving into her grandmothers haunted house and trying to figure out who killed her great grandmother. She has a stalker, Zade, who is obsessed with her and kills guys in a pedophile ring for hurting children and women even tho he lowkey rapes addie. She likes it but the first couple times was def non consensual. She’s just starting to fall in love with him but he’s doing a mission and shit just went down. Also her great grandma also had a stalker who she fell in love with so they joke about being them reincarnated. Onto book

This was intenseeee. Addie got kidnapped by the “society” and brutally raped and tortured in order to be sold. It took Zade like two months to find her and she was just a whole different person. She hated being touched and he was so patient with her. This shows how they both evolved. I also liked Sibby (crazy schizophrenic murderer girl) and lowkey Rio (kidnapped her but was nice and helped her escape). Sometimes I struggled to keep reading cuz I was bored but overall I’m glad I did bc it was a good book

AMAZING. THIS BOOK IS AMAZING.
That ending. Wow. Wow. Wow. I didn't expect that ending page. I had high expectations for this book and those expectations were met and exceeded. The mystery and romance in this book were so well done (like a Griffin steak - and I are it up like a starving person). The way they blended together was impeccable. normally in books I read with mystery and romance, it can get really blocky and it doesn't seem finished. Those books are still great (because I'm a sucker for romance, it's in every ounce of my being) but they don't even hold a match to this book, let alone a candle light. I absolutely recommend.
However, before you proceed to read it just as I told you to because it's amazing and you should absolutely read it, be fully and wholly aware of ALL of the trigger warnings. I don't tend to get triggered by the things that authors write in books, but reading this, I can see why some people don't finish reading it. Not because the writing or the plot or the characters aren't good (because they absobluminglutely are amazing), but because of all the triggering things in this book. So, please, before even reading the first page, please read the trigger warnings. That being said, I appreciate immensely the character of Zade and everything he fights for in his job. I love the reading behind his self-assigned purpose of life because you don't tend to get a response like his to "what made you choose this path for yourself?"
I found the presence of what he fights against to be amazing because I have truly never seen this in a book before.
I also heard that the author was having doubts before writing and publishing. It made me wonder how many other writers struggle with this kind of doubt. It made me sad about the books we will never get to see in this world and grateful for her perseverance with seeing this through as it is a true masterpiece. I will be raving about this duology for a long time coming and giving it the respect and recommendations it truly deserves.
So sue me because this is about to become my whole personality (not the trigger warnings. I do t ever absorb those tendencies, just a disclaimer so you know that I will not start stalking anyone in my lifetime - it's only ok in fiction after all).
Please go and read this book because not only was there an epic romance, the ending page will forever haunt me. I literally stated and whatted at the screen for about a minute, jumping up and down before staring book 2. High expectations for this book too, let me tell you. And I am preparing to be blown away.
