First book I've read in a long time that I found just so perfect. I must admit I didn't find this book as I normally find my books (via browsing on the internet)
I stopped by a bookstore and noticed the beautiful cover and it did entice me in. I know they say don't judge a book by its cover but it is a good marketing strategy for it to be this pretty. Not only was the book ascetically pleasing but the plot seemed so perfect.
A book lover that's awkward inherits a cute little bookshop. In London but has the best of both living in a city but village like vibe where it was set!? Yes please. I loved all of the characters quirky ness and the humour they had. I just loved this book a lot and it's not often I give books 5 stars. Check it out because you really won't regret it. Also, if the author ever reads this, keep up the work and I can't wait to read the second in this series in May!

i liked a lot of this, particularly posy and her love for romance novels and how hard she tries to make sure her baby brother is loved and taken care of , but sebastian was insufferable for about 95% of the time and it really dragged down what was a book i was genuinely enjoying. like he wasn't charming! which i think he was supposed to come across as but instead he was just annoying and obnoxious. and i kept wishing either the book wouldn't go there at all romance-wise or the book could at least provide him with some hidden depths and we do get it a little but not nearly enough in my opinion and the most we do get happens near the end which at that point it's a bit too litte too late to get me to fully care about the romance.

Sweet, frothy and inconsequential, like reading cotton candy. ymmv, but I found the heroine too silly and the hero too annoying until the last couple of chapters to really invest in the all-too-predictable outcome. However, I gather this is to be a series, and, because some of the peripheral characters were more interesting than the main protagonist in this one, I may look out for the sequels.

My 5 Thoughts:
1. Sebastian was just too damn irritating for me to particularly like him.
2. Due to Sebastian doing my head in for 90% of the book, I didn't really care if him and Posy finally got together.
3. I cared more about the bookshop than the main characters.
4. What was the point of the Piers Brocklehurst character?
5. Posy needs to grow a backbone stat.

Charming quirky set of characters, along with books galore and some descriptions of gorgeous London that had me feeling very nostalgic in this weirdest or all years.
Predictable? Oh yes completely but in a year so full of uncertainties it's nice to know how some things will end....
Ideal summer read, I would say, especially if you're a fan of Jane Austen and bookstores...I'm halfway through volume two already and I think I like Verity a lot better than Posy...lol.

Happy Readings!

So cute and laugh-out-loud funny. So glad to hear there are three more books in this series. 💕
