...as the Rolling Stones sang. Case in point, our depraved and evil (no spoilers, it's obvious from the start) lead Lori. The journey/ quest central to this novella had more than enough gruesome detail to keep things oozing along. The ending was inevitable.

I believe that listening to this book was much better than reading it. I loved LOVED loved the voice of the story. She was calm and soothing and I loved how the narrator voiced each character.
A chic has been a penpal with a prison inmate, who sends her to meet the River Man. The majority of the story is her and her sisters journey down the river.
Some parts I found my mind drifting away when there were flashbacks. They seemed to be too long and not advance the story much other than in character development. The ending was very satisfying, which is something I rarely say about books.

no thank you.
