I hate that I really liked this book. The writing grabs your attention and keeps it the whole time. I had to force myself to not read the whole thing in one sitting. Like watching a car crash and not being able to look away.
There is some gore, although it wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be.
That being said, there is a part in here that made me feel physically sick. Like, dread-inducing, pit-of-your-stomach sour kind of sick. This part was described more vividly than the gore. As the book progressed, I had the sinking suspicion what was going on, but I still was not prepared for when it happened. Check your TW!
PS. There is a dog in one brief scene, but he’s a good boy and doesn’t get hurt :)

I liked this book I’d say! 3.5⭐️ Wasn’t quite what I was expected and had some issues for sure, but the main character was so well written to be completely unlikeable- I appreciated it, it’s refreshing!
A couple parts were very r/menwritingwomen but overall it was an all right, quick read.

I love story lines about the devil at the crossroads. I was able to read this in a day as the pacing is great and its fairly short. Overall I liked it but I'm not super impressed. I love the depiction of the town, the river and the river man himself but I found Lori and Abbys story to be somewhat boring and Lori's past felt like just shock value to be shock value.
I liked it but it didn't wow me

I loved this book. I loved the fact that the main character was just the worst, I've not read a book like that before and I was here for it, will definitely be reading more Triana books.
