I really enjoyed this book. Although I found the main character a little hard to like, I overall enjoyed the story and the family dynamics. I also loved that this was about an older millenial as often, books like this are written about women in their early 20s. This is my second read by this author and I like the way she writes.

The best way I can describe this, I think, is the depressing and acerbic cousin to "Crazy Rich Asians." I found the vast majority of the characters so vile that reading this book actively depressed me. While it was funny, it was definitely funny in a depressing way, and while I liked the ending and admired Andrea a lot, this book made me feel sad and was overall not what I was expecting. The author has a great writing style, and I would totally read more books by her, but perhaps I wasn't in the right frame of mind to be reading this book right now.

Fun tone and reminiscent of crazy rich Asians but it lacks focus and drive and I don’t really care about anyone’s love life in this story.
Loved the writing style. Funny and sarcastic. Great summer read.

Absolutely chaotic, and not in a good way. I don't make it a habit to DNF ARCs and I was interested in the interracial romance between an East Asian woman and a South Asian man. But I just couldn't get through this book.
I tried the audiobook, but the narrator's voice was grating on my nerves. Then I switched to the ebook, which made me realize that it's in fact the writing style and the main character's voice that are not vibing with me. The heroine was irritating and the author was trying way too hard with the humour. Finally, given that this book is written in a epistolary format with diary entries, the play by play narration was incredibly repetitive and frustrating to get through.

got kind of bored of the plot and found it hard to keep up with all the characters
Alasan baca ini karena klaimnya yang dimana dibilang kalo suka Crazy Rich Asians, juga bakalan suka buku ini.
Emmm gimana ya, jujur rada love hate sih sama buku ini, tapi aku enjoy aja waktu bacanya karena memang hampir sedikit banyak mirip kaya CRA, mulai dari latar tempatnya yang sama sama di Singapura, terus juga seputar kehidupan keluarga Asian yang yaaa begitulah~
Formatnya rada unik karena kaya semacam baca diary gitu, cuma kadang aku agak bingung dan gak nyaman bacanya

I was really excited to read this book, but I never found the characters compelling, even late in the book. I loved the setup about the family, but then they are hardly in the book. The love interests were so predictable and none were deeply drawn out except Suresh (who I did like). I wish the main characters voice was more consistent throughout the book - I didn’t believe her as good at her job, even though she insists she is.
