~ Quick and easy read with a mix of humor and romance.
~ Reminded me of Crazy Rich Asian mixed with Always be my Maybe.

So so refreshing. Enjoyed this so much. Our MMC is a train wreck (but in an endearing way) and she takes way too long (in my opinion) to get her man but it’s worth it.

So much voice in this debut novel, I wasn't sure what the main character would do next and if she was going to seize control of her life. It was a fun ride.

took me forever to finish it was so bad. i don't trust the mc at all, full brazen just having romantic feelings for someone she knew from the jump is engaged is weird af. eric and her would have really worked well together but it literally seemed like the bad stuff about him
were so forced. filled with cringey millennial nonsense and dialogue, the mc is basically an alcoholic and this was overall a really bad mess, thank god i'm done

I usually feel like it does a book a great disservice to describe it as some sort of lovechild between two other, more famous books. However in this case, I am in fully agreement: Crazy Rich Asians + Bridget Jones’s Diary = Last Tang Standing

And I mean this in the best way possible. I’m obsessed with Crazy Rich Asians and this book pairs a glitzy Singapore setting with the acerbic narration of a single thirty-something woman.

Taking it for what it is, it was a great book. Funny, engaging and relatable. While the bare bones of the story wasn’t particularly novel (various dating escapades, eccentric best friends, love/hate romance), I really enjoyed the setting, the development of the characters, and the exploration of the challenges in living up to family expectations.
