I forgot I had this book until the other day. Thankfully the author did such a wonderful job of telling Shade's past. I was never lost or confused. I was just enthralled. For a guy that swears he doesn't have a heart or soul his actions always prove him wrong. Shade isn't just a story of the past, it is a story about resolution and a bright future. Finally, Shade will deal with Brooke. He will be able to keep his word, protecting and loving Lily.

Audiobook - absolutely love this story such a great up and down twist and turn romance with a full love story through the couples death. A love like no other for sure!

I can't do it. I really enjoy this series but this Shade PoV is creeping me out and making me like him less than i did previously. No thank you. DNF @ 20%.

It also manages to make the other women in the Last Rider's MC seem even more lacking in personality. Do they actually serve a purpose other than sex whenever any guy in the club beckons?

The description did not make clear that this was a retelling of basically the entire series from Shade's pov. It didn't even go into all the detail it should have for the book to be appreciated as more of a standalone or one to catch you up to speed before the next book, so many parts were confusing or seemed to come just out of nowhere. The only reason I finished this 25 hour audiobook (yes, it's really that long) is because people were saying there's new/important stuff "towards the end". I had no idea where "towards the end" of 25 hours was, so I listened to the entire thing. I'd say probably the last 8 hours is where new stuff starts to happen.

I've really enjoyed the other books in this series, so this one was just completely disappointing. Hopefully Lucky's book is better.

Mixed feelings

I hated the beginning of this book lol. I read the other books , I don't want or need a recap! But the last 200 pages of this book I loved. So I gave it a 3.

Five stars for that epilogue. That epilogue was pure perfection.

Oh my heart!

Shade has stolen my heart! It as interesting to see the last couple books in Shade's perspective. I love how Shade discovers that he does have the capacity to love and that loyalty is another form of love. There was so much going on in this book but the last couple epilogues simply broke my heart, in a good way. I won't ruin it but oh my heart! Tears in my eyes!! I can not wait to read more!!! So glad there is more!

I'm completely exhausted. Disappointed. Pissed off. I probably should have read the reviews before I had invested my time and $$$ in this book. Along with the complete repetition and rehashing that occurred for 90% of the book, my dislike for some of the characters became stronger. I didn't think it was possible for me to see some of the female characters as weaker than they had come across in each individual book. Well, I was wrong. Beth and her whiner sister Lily can be left out of all future books. Strike that. Should be left out of all future books. Excuse me - time to take some tequilia shots so I can forget that I'll never get all of these hours back.

Throws kindle across the room. Stomps into the kitchen. Finds tequilia bottle. Pours shot. Tosses it back.

Argh! The hours I wasted!

October 2019: Seriously, I forgot how much I loved this book. It is a really big book and took a few days to actually get through. I typically would get frustrated with that. Despite it being a reread, though, I still loved it just as much as the first time. I actually think I appreciated Shade’s POV even more during this reread. And I noticed little things that I didn’t before. I kind of want to read it again and see what else there is for me to find.

September 2017: This book has all the feels. Even though many of the scenes are repeats from the series, I loved seeing Shades point of view. This is a must read.
