I didn’t like this one as much. I felt like a lot of things were too easy for Paige. Breaking into certain places, and rescuing people. Since Scion knows her gifts, why are they not better prepared for her? I did enjoy this book though

I continue to enjoy how Shannon has built this story over these first three installments. She has taken the plot and characters quite far from the original setting of book one and has done so in a believable way. Sometimes when the plot transforms over the course of a series it can feel like a bait and switch. Other times, like in this series, it feels natural, organic. After finishing, the only negative thing that I can say about this installment is that I wanted more. It's the shortest of the series that I've read thus far.

More of what you love if you’re into this series. Not quite as strong as the previous book, but it feels like it’s moving us towards the series finale. Nice to see wider Scion England. Paige continues to be completely battered by the author, poor girl hasn’t slept in months - just keeps acquiring injuries.
