Collections of short stories are not my forte but it was nice to reconnect with old literary friends and see some small snapshots into their lives.

I liked some story more than other, the land I lost was my favourite. I love every book of tsc so I’m not imparcial I can’t do anything.

I went into this thinking it will be like The Bane Chronicles, lighter, fun, not cause me emotional turmoil, but oh I was so very wrong.
Each story hit me one way or another, but I liked everyone of them.

cast long shadows - matthew (charlotte and henry’s son) is so bubbly and funny, thomas (gideon and sophie’s som) is cute and shy though i’ve no idea why he wants to be friends with alastair (jem’s uncle elias’ son). poor matthew is going to blame himself forever for poisoning charlotte by accident and in turn killing what would be charlotte and henry’s 3rd child:( - all because alastair carstairs made up a stupid story about charlotte having an affair with gideon
every exquisite thing - awhhh anna (gabriel and cecily’s daughter) is definitely gonna have a crush on ariadne (the inquisitors daughter). awh jem is tryna find out about tessa’s demon father. ariadne is marrying charles buford soon so doesn’t want to be with anna bc she’s not a “liar” yet she led anna on :(( it was so beautiful how accepting and kind gabriel and cecily were - they both knew she wore christopher’s clothes and bought her a suit of her own and she cut off all her hair and they both were complimenting her, gabriel says the blue waistcoat brings out her eyes

These were very much set up for "The Wicked Powers" which will not come out for a while unfortunaly, since I am still exited about it despite how many times i have been let down by CC. Ultimately this collection was probably as a whole more interesting than QOAAD. I'm still here for some reason.

THE MALEC STORY WAS EVERYTHING
Jem Carstairs has always been my favorite character from the Infernal Devices and maybe even from the whole Shadowhunter Chronicles, there is something about him that it´s just different from anything I´ve seen before, he´s selfless, but not in a self-absorbed kind of way when he sacrifices himself without thinking of the consequences, he has an enormous kindness and empathy that makes living these stories from his point of view an entirely refreshing experience. I love his relationship with Will and how even though he´s a silent brother, they manage to keep their bond.
I´ve only had MINA CARSTAIRS for a day and a half but if anything were to happen to her I would kill everyone in this room and then myself.
And finally, Malec, they are the best dads ever I love them with all my heart and as an Argentinian myself I couldn´t be prouder to have Rafa born here.

Jem siempre ha sido mi personaje favorito de la trilogía de Infernal Devices y poder leer todo lo que ha pasado desde ese momento hasta después de la trilogía de Dark Artificies es alucinante. Sin duda mis dos capítulos favoritos son The Land I Lost y Forever Fallen. En ambos puedo ver a mis dos personajes favoritos de todos los libros Alec y Jem, y la felicidad después de todo lo que pasa en los demás libros. La forma en la que introducen la trilogía posterior a Dark Artíficies es alucinante y a la vez cruel ya que hasta dentro de bastante tiempo no vamos a tener un continuación a la historia. En general, de los tres libros de historias cortas es mi favorito seguido de el de Magnus. Tengo muchas ganas de continuar leyendo.
