I loved this. It played at my heartstrings in the best way possible. The stories with Jem and Tessa as a family with Kit and Mina where my favourite. These novellas made me so nostalgic for the early shadowhunter world and being with my old characters in new content was a warming and safe feeling. Also this book is Wills just as it is Jems but that was always to be expected. It had me wanting to cry every time he was mentioned, god I love Will Herondale.

I don't think I've ever read any of the Shadowhunter short story/novellas before, but I just really love Jem and Kit. Honestly, they are two of my favourite characters in this entire series. That being said, I also really enjoyed reading about most of the other Shadowhunters in here too.
I could read an entire book of just Tessa, Jem, Kit and Mina.

Let me just say that I absolutely LOVED this book. Maybe not as much as Shadowhunter Academy, but like it has such wonderful set up for the next two series in this universe, especially Wicked Powers. Like my God, those last two stories sh00k me. If you haven't read any Shadowhunters book, this is your warning to stop now. These reviews are not super spoilery, but like I would not continue, especially past "Through Blood, Through Fire" because 'tis not a good idea. If you have read them though, plz enjoy <3

"Cast Long Shadows": 4 stars
I highly enjoyed this one. I can already tell that Matthew is going to be one of my favs from TLH, and I think this story gave very interesting background on what we are going to see coming into TLH. Obviously, Matthew is going to be carrying a heavy burden, and I know this is going to be a huge plot point and I really hope that he can just like tell someone so he won't be burdened with the knowledge.
"Every Exquisite Thing": 4.5 stars
This was another really interesting story and I must say I enjoyed it much more the second time around. I love Anna, and I hope that after this experience, she can just grow and be able to love somebody that's going to love her for her just for who she is.
"Learn About Loss": 3.5 stars
Ok so like here's the deal with this one... It's probably my least favorite of all the stories, but I LOVED Sister Emilia oh so much. Also, I loved the ending. Other than that not much happened in this story and it was the most forgettable one sorry oop -_-
"A Deeper Love": 3.5 stars
This is one that I originally really loved, but it seemed kind of boring the second time around. Like ti was cute and all and I liked the setting, but it didn't really move the plotline much, so it felt like it was just put there for fan service. It's an eh for me.
"The Wicked Ones": 5 stars
OK, SO I CAN NOW SAY THAT THIS WAS MY FAVORITE STORY BECAUSE WOW! Like this and Land I Lost are really close, but I think this one takes it for me because I love learning about the early days of the Circle. Celine is just such an interesting character to me even though when reading TMI I just dismissed her. However, the more I learn about her, the more I am invested. She was just always sort of the villain in the whole Stephen/Amatis/Celine love triangle because she wanted Stephen and so Valentine broke the couple apart so she could have him. But knowing the full story is just so aaaahhhh ya know? I really hope we get to learn more about what happened to her /after/ this story because I just love learning about her.
"Son of the Dawn": 4.5 stars
This is one that I really enjoyed, mainly because we got to see like the origins of Jace/Alec/Isabelle and even the early struggles of Maryse and Robert which was really interesting. It pained me to see Jace all high strung because of his upbringing, but I loved his sort of instant trust in the Lightwood children and an early bond in formation.
"The Land I Lost": 5 stars
Ok so if I was already familiar with Celine's story before reading "Wicked Ones" then this would be first, but it's not so oop. I absolutely adored this one from domestic Malec to Rafe to LILY CHEN omg she /shined/ in this story. I just think this is an overall amazing story and so well-fleshed out that it is a must read.
"Through Blood, Through Fire": 4.5 stars
This is another one that I highly enjoyed. I really liked the way that this story culminated the whole Lost Herondale journey. I think it was high stakes and meaningful, and that's what I really love in Cassie's writing. Rosemary is another very interesting character that we probably won't see much of because our knowledge of her is so limited, at least in other characters' POVs. I really hope we get more insight through other characters' stories though.
"The Lost World": 5 stars
Ok so Cassie didn't have to hit me this hard with Ghost Livvy but HERE WE ARE. I really liked this one too. It had a really dark edge to it, and I'm super excited to see what's going to happen with the new knowledge we have of Livvy and the limits to her power. It will most definetly come into play in Wicked Powers and I am STRESSED. Also, the Heron necklace is also gonna come into play and I am anxiously awaiting its use.
"Forever Fallen": 4.7 stars
Alright lads we have reached the transition point from TDA to TWP and damn is it a MESS. So we have like so many things going on. Obviously, there's still Livvy and Cohort drama, but now we have to add Thule Jace (or Janus and like how fitting of a name) and Ash who I still don't know what we're gonna do with. I'm just so stressed for all these characters and like Cassie's gonna kill me with TWP but I guess we'll never know until we get to it, huh.
Ok my dudes that's it for this review. If you didn't heed my warning at the beginning and went through this having never read a Shadowhunters book, then like that was dumb but also go start them now it is never too late to catch up because more books are always coming.

Es básicamente James Carstairs extrañando a Will Herondale durante más de un siglo.
Same. Quiero más Will en The Shadowhunter Chronicles.

All the feelings all the time for all characters of the Mortal Instrument world from New York to LA to London. I loved that all these stories had the one and only most precious Jem Carstairs. The thing about this series... is that there is simply too many people to love and root for and I am continuously rooting for them in the upcoming series.
I really enjoyed this in comparison to other Shadowhunters books I've read recently, perhaps that was because I could appreciate the world more through the Audiobook format.

Muy muy buen libro, al no estar en español lo he leído en inglés, y aunque ha habido partes de confusión me ha resultado fácil de leer. Todos los protagonistas de los relatos han sido muy indicados e interesantes. 100% recomendado de leer para saber más.
