The short shorty collections are my least faveourite shadowhunter books. They just don’t feel the same as the others.

I was hesitant to read this book at first because it is a collection of short stories about Shadowhunter characters all across Cassandra Clare's universe. I ended up really appreciating it, however! If you miss your favorite characters, this is an easy one to read! And there is an overarching plot, which is the fun part!
As with the other Cassie Clare collection of novellas, there are some hits and misses! The last two of this collection, the two we had to wait for until the physical collection came out, were the best in my opinion! Some of the stories weren’t as well written and ended up boring and confusing, but the last two were *chef kiss*. I read them in one sitting and now I’m hungry for the next sequel series. Why must I be forced to wait?!?!
3.75 for me. Some of these stories utterly bored me. While Others made me legit tear up. My favorite part of these novellas was seeing the original cast of characters and seeing the characters and mentions of them from TDA. But other than that it just fell flat for me. I have never been a big fan of TID or Jem and Tessa and characters and I think that is a reason why this just didn't excite me as much as it has for others. Some stories were just information that I didn't feel like added anything to the story at all, but if there are stories that I think everyone should read they would be (in no particular order): Son of the Dawn, The Land I lost, and the Lost World.

Thoughts while reading Ghosts of the Shadow Market:
I literally cried at every scene when Will was mentioned, and I'm telling you that Will was mentioned like. Alot.
I found myself not really caring for most of the stories except for the ones where Jem AND Tessa were both involved/present in.
Some of the stories were really sweet though and offered some insight into the past Shadowhunter stories (kind of like a link or connection as well as filling in missing gaps within the stories).
I can't wait to see more of Mina in the future books though, she's literally the cutest baby!
Minor spoiler: it seems like a dream to have Tessa and Jem as parents, they're literally the most kind and caring characters ever written... 3
About to read Chain of Iron and it does not help when the book mentions how these characters (ex. Cecily, James) have been dead for a century :')
A constant thought I had while reading this book (and a lot recently actually..) is how permanence is a facade in this world. Mortality is so delicate yet its taken for granted every day and it hurts when the things you love is taken away from you (the grief you feel afterwards..).

DON'T READ IF YOU DON'T WANT SPOILERS FOR THE DARK ARTIFICES AND CHAIN OF GOLD
I am so happy that my need to have matching books stopped me from buying this until the paperback version was available because I would've spoiled a lot of TDA for myself.

Notes throughout:
So if Magnus' dad is Asmodeus, King of Hell and Tessa's dad is a Prince of Hell (brother to Asmodeus), does this mean that Tessa and Magnus are cousins?
The Heron necklace on the cover is for the Lost Herondales
Why are the fey so interested in the Herondales? Is it because of Roland Herondale, his faerie wife and their child? EDIT: It is because she is the First Heir
Rosemary is Kit's mum
Cordelia Carstairs knew Lily Chen? Are we going to see Lily in Chain of Iron?
Auraline was the First Heir (child of the Unseelie King and Seelie Queen) and she got with Roland (who's a Herondale) and had a kid. Wow that kid and the rest of the line is going to have such a wonderful non-chaotic life(!)
How did they get out and in of Idris to spy on everyone? Can it go both ways if the people outside Idris try?
Kit shushing Mina to sleep made me tear up.

Never thought that i would finish it fast but i’m glad i’m done with the shadowhunter world for now.
I personally like livvy’s story here and Kit, almost cried. But to get to the point of that story you probably has to endure a bit long journey of brother zachariah, which Lily chen got lots of funny nick name for(which always made me laugh) 4/5
