this was such a surprisingly enjoyable short story collection!
I loved following Jem and his scenes with Tessa made my heart melt!

This was definitely my favorite of the Shadowhunter short story collections so far! Most of the stories were pretty good but I didn't care for the last two at all which was a bit of a bummer at the end... and sometimes the stretch to include the Shadow Market was a biiiiiit stilted but alrighty.

A very rewarding book to read if you are a fan of other Cassandra Clare books. I cried multiple times.
My favourite Shadowhunters novella out of all! Reading this made me fall even more in love with Jem and Tessa's relationship, all while being fascinated with the behind-the-scenes of what happened in the major novels. Getting a glimpse of Thule Jace was definitely intriguing, and I'd like to see more of him. Would I read this again? DEFINITELY!

Loved some of these stories! I loved meeting the characters that will be introduced in Chain of Gold and also getting a sneak peak at the set up for The Wicked Powers.

#1 Son of the Dawn: What a joy it is, to read about Jace again! Doesn’t add anything of significance to the plot but it was fun to read, all the same. 4⭐️
#2 Cast long shadows: Cassandra Clare WHY do you have to hurt me like that????? Matthew Fairchild has my heart and I just want to give the poor boy a hug. God knows, he needs one. Alastair Carstairs can burn in hell, as far as I’m concerned. The ending of Chain Of Gold made me feel some pity for him but all of that has vanished since reading this. Devil’s spawn.
Great edition to The Last Hours series. It gives context and answers some of the questions I had while reading Chain of Gold. A worthwhile read but it hurt my heart. Cassandra Clare does conflicting, tortured characters like no other. 5⭐️
#3 Every Exquisite Thing: Made me love Anna even more. I have so much respect for Gabriel and Cecily - parents of the year. Anna is a badass, stereotype-breaking, lesbian icon. I fricken love her! 5⭐️
#4Learn About Loss: This one has a really sweet ending and makes me wish Will & Jem could have had a lifetime together. 4⭐️

The first half was absolutely boring and even pointless at times. But I loved meeting Matthew and Anna there, and the rest of The Last Hours Characters.
The second half was really good, really sweet and sad and also scary, near the end. I'm very excited to read The Wicked Powers and very fearful as well. I just want everyone to be happy ):
