I really enjoyed this book. Interesting characters, a plot that moves along and a fun read. Since I don't read a lot of spy books I can't really compare it to others in the genre but I can say I will continue with this series.

This is the 1st book in the Gabriel Allon series by Daniel Silva. Another book/series that has been languishing on my TBR- finally dusted off the cobwebs and jumped in. A gripping story! Read the series back to back.

Everyone I meet tells me I must read Daniel Silva. I enjoyed this, but I wouldn't consider it a must read. Maybe I'll try one of his others.
Really good. I call this a "manly" written book as the verbal exchanges and female characters are pretty flatly written and the focus is on the action. That said, I still enjoyed the plotting and the overall story line. Will read more.
This took awhile for me to get into it, but I liked the characters a lot. I'm curious to see how Gabriel is lured into coming back to work in the second novel!
The book presents really authentic characters who show all sides of the friction in the Middle East. Once you start reading, be prepared to dedicate yourself to the book as it is tough to put it down.
International spy thriller and it's a series to boot! This, the first book introduces us to Gabriel Allon, an art restorer and former Israeli intelligence officer. He's coaxed back into action and well, I hope he continues we know since this is a long running series, that stays in action. The history of Allon and the other 'players' were slowly fleshed out and I liked the pacing. I will be reading the next one.
