This book was like torture. It should have taken me a few hours to read, it took days. It was just not interesting nor compelling. I have never read anything from this author and will never again, this was horrible.
The language and stories seemed immature and not fully thought out. I only finished this to finish it. Not sure why I wasted my time.

My first Murakami book and I enjoyed it a lot.

The writing style was excellent, between that and some very human characters I got sucked into these short stories.

Drive my car, An independent organ, Kino, and Men without women were the strongest imo.

Not every story was a hit and I normally prefer a longer book, to that end I’ll certainly pick up some full length novels from the author.

This was my first read from Murakami and I enjoyed it SO MUCH. I love the details and metaphors he uses. It was a wonderful collection of short stories, and I particularly love the Samsa and Kafka inspired one. ⠀
