My least favourite couple on Risda unfortunately. I felt this story was too long, but this makes sense as it was written as a serial during covid. Naaskth was an interesting lead and I enjoyed his fast/slow wooing of Kim and recovery post Gladiator days. Kim felt surreal to me, her nativite at odds with her apparent years of slavery. The extended epilogue was quite cute though.

Lion-like alien, enemies to lovers, and a book I didn't know I need. I was starting to get into yet another reading slump and this fixed it. There is also content warning at the beginning of this book.

This is the first time in my life that I read a book where the FMC has the same name as me. I considered DNFing after finding that out but decided to read at least a chapter or two before I did that. The story sucked me in and I'm very glad that I didn't let the name thing stop me from reading and enjoying this book. Genuinely delightful.

Left me wanting to read another just like it

Out of all the books I've read by Ruby Dixon I think this one is my favorite. It has cute cultural misunderstandings. A hero that is super patient and mildly sexually frustrated. There is a secondary conflict that seems unnecessary but I loved the extended ending

This didn’t feel nearly as long as it was. I thought it was another one of the Risdaverse novellas until I got to around 20% and realized I was still reading. I love Nassakth’s patience while Kim worked thru her issues. I love Kim’s mama bear routine over the bounty. I love everything about Bethiah and the pirates.

It wasn’t my favorite book in the ipb universe, but it was nice.

Meh

Eh, fine for what it is. I have pretty low expectations of this author (why read her, you ask? That’s a good question...sometimes I’m just in the mood for a book that requires no thought), but there were some genuinely amusing parts, an the story definitely improved as I went along. I have read almost all of her other books (and genuinely liked several) and they’re pretty much all interconnected, which is kind of interesting. Faint praise, but it’s only 2 stars

I’m surprised that this is a full novel but it was lovely and amazing. It didn’t feel unnecessary at all.

There are 2 epilogues but after following them for 300+ pages, it’s a rare opportunity to get full and satisfied closure on a couple’s story. It was cute and I can’t imagine not having those glimpses into their lives in the years after the main story.

Kim and Nassakth's story. It took me a bit to get into a Praxiian story but it wasn't too bad. He's a cat alien who is a rich ex gladiator and she needs a protector, he's loved her from afar (bit creepy but whatever), he'll kill anyone if they hurt her (and has killed her past suitors). Can be a sweet story if you look at it in a certain light.
