This entire book was wonderful and that was all due to Mr. "I have many heart-feelings" Nassakth.

I mean, how do you NOT love a hero who says and thinks this way?

"Because ever since I saw you in the streets talking to another human while in port, I wanted you. Because you smiled so brightly at her that it made all the dark places in my heart disappear. Because I want you to smile at me like that."

*swoon* I mean, come on. He was a dreamboat, especially to a former human slave. That man had the patience of a saint. He was absolutely one of the best heroes. I ADORED him. Especially so because he was Praxiian and I do love me a man that can purr

I was laughing out loud reading this book! The first part of the book was a delight to read, and I would have given the book five stars, if not for things going a little downhill later for me.  This one is considerably longer than the previous books in this series. It is a full-length novel.

I was honestly a little nervous starting this because when I found out the love interest would be a Praxiian alien, I was really worried it was going to be the creepy one from the previous book. Thankfully, it's a different one.

I love Nassakth. I think he's one of my favorite male characters. He did have one flaw, which was the withholding of information from Kim. I didn't like that, but in every other way, he was funny and caring and so dedicated and willing to do whatever to protect his mate. He is a cat-like alien, and I just loved his mindset and mannerisms. (I do think Ruby needs to learn about c0ck pockets because I feel like a cat alien would not have his "warrior" dangling out all the time 😅)

I didn't really like Kim's choices later in the book, and so, that was another reason that lowered the rating a bit for me.

Bethiah is introduced in this book, and she was such a fun character, too.
