Whelp I read these out of order. This book is where we meet Sophie, who becomes the FMC of the next book. I'm glad the author's note talked about how these were written as a serial and released during the height of COVID 2020. It connects well with Kim who throughout the book writes and releases chapters of romance books to the other humans on Risda III. It also explains why this book was really felt like the event that challenges their relationship was weak compared to Ruby's other books.

Kim needs a husband because that same praxxian that was stalking Piper in the previous book is stalking her now, leaving dead animals on her doorstep and jizzing on her door. Turns out that's how praxxians "court" someone! Kim hires Bethiah to kidnap a husband for him, Nassakth pays her to kidnap him. She's terrified and he's sexually tortured because she grows this noli planet which is praxxian catnip and apparently prolonged exposure can cause a male to cum in his pants over and over!? Jfc lol. But Kim eventually agrees to marry him and they go live in his house.

Their relationship has starts and stops. He was a former gladiator. His parents sold him into slavery as is custom for a third son. He's pretty famous but retired now at 45. But he has trust issues too, and doesn't tell Kim everything. Kim finds out he killed a slaver to protect her, and eventually learns he killed his slave master to get free too. Kim was a sex slave for 3 years to this bug like alien that sounds gross.

At ~65%  Nassakth's parents make contact suddenly, they want him to be their heir. Kim worries she's holding him back. This is where they meet Sophie, she was a sex slave to Nassakth's dad. Kaspar and crew rescue her. Nassakth decides his parents never loved him and he won't give up Kim. They live HAE, have triplets and a fourth kid on the way.

So good. A paranormal alien romance. It was hilarious how Kim hired a bounty hunter and ended up marrying the one she wanted to stay away from ๐Ÿ˜‚ Nassakth was absolutely whipped and I loved reading his POV and squealing at how cute and in love his thoughts are. The language is different and absolutely hilarious but cute like Love = heart-warming and Kiss = mouth-tasting ๐Ÿ˜† It's adorable how Nassakth tries to learn the human ways to impress Kim. Though his honesty and courting could use some work ๐Ÿคจ The scenes we're off the charts ๐Ÿฅต๐ŸคŒ I loved that there was a solid plot as well. The world building, plot and character development was amazing. Bethiah is an awesome side character and I wouldn't mind having a book about her. That epilogue was so sweet. I just want more of them all ๐Ÿ˜
