Only so-so thus far, but several off hand lines made me laugh. Once the characters and situation are set up, it gets more interesting. Though the characters aren't necessarily sympathetic at first, they sure are familiar, and it's easy to get caught up in the world.
So I'm not normally the type for Graphic Novels or Manga, but Scott Pilgrim is right up my alley. I loved this book and I'm so mad that I finished it so quickly. I still need to get my hands on volume 2
A quick fun read. I laughed out loud numerous times. Such a great premise -- an early 20's slacker guy meets the girl of his dreams (literally) and has to fight off her 7 evil ex-boyfriends to date her. I plan to read volumes 2 - 5 just as soon as I can get my hands on them. And I'm very much looking forward to the movie!
I saw this movie years ago so I kinda already knew what happened but sometimes movies don't capture the source material well. This one totally did. It has the awkward humor as well as the random humor.
This volume kinda felt like it was taking place in a normal world...until Scott turns out to be an awesome fighter (every awkward dork's dream!). When he beats the 1st ex, the ex explodes and leave coins. So it's gonna be a video game inspirited world.

The 33 year old me is giving it 3 stars... the teenager me would probably have given it 4.
The art prevented me from picking this up for years, but I'm glad I did. Cute!
My daughter recommend this book to me & I finally got around to it...not at all knowing what to expect. I thought it started out slow, but it gained traction & I found it to be a very cute indie tale. I only wished we cane to the fighting earlier. Looking forward to reading the rest of the series.
Is the movie literally a scene by scene remake? Appears that way.
