What can I say? I love the Scott Pilgrim series. It's such an easy read. I always fly through these books and it's immature, silly, and funny. Scott Pilgrim's Precious Little Life mostly just introduces the characters and the concept of the story. Scott is very immature, an idiot, and a bit of a dick. But he's funny to read about. None of the characters in this are hugely likeable, and some of them are fairly unlikable, but I enjoy the stupid humour in these graphic novels. Like, there are times when I'm laughing and I'm just like, 'Why am I even laughing? THIS IS SO DUMB.' but I guess that's exactly why I'm laughing.
I also really like Bryan Lee O'Malley's art style. It's simple and it suits the type of stories he tells really well. I love the way that he sometimes has characters overlapping panels. It's nothing artsy or even particularly special but it's still so good.
Honestly what it comes down to is that this series makes me laugh and it's great to pick up when I need a break from all of the heavy stuff I usually read.

I’m the kind of person who likes to read books before watching their movie adaptations, so I decided to check out the six-volume Scott Pilgrim graphic novel series. Volume 1, Scott Pilgrim’s Precious Little Life, was a fast and enjoyable read. Scott is an unemployed 23-year old in a rock band. He recently started dating a high school girl, Knives Chang, and his friends have been giving him a lot of grief about it. Before things get too serious with Knives, though, Scott develops an infatuation for Ramona Flowers, a rollerblading delivery girl. But getting the girl isn’t going to be so easy—Ramona has seven evil ex-boyfriends that Scott must defeat before he date her.
Scott Pilgrim's Precious Little Life is a highly entertaining read. Clever dialogue, quirky characters, an interesting plot, and engaging artwork made me a fan. I’ll definitely be continuing with Volumes 2-6.

I FREAKING LOVED THIS.
The art was used SO cleverly which my graphic design mind loved and is probably one of the reasons I liked it so much.
I've seen the movie so I had a little more to go off of when reading this, but I was surprised to find I loved it maybe more than the movie?
It's so quirky and wonderful and just so much good stuff wrapped into one thing.
SO GOOD.

Uhhhm, it feels almost silly reviewing something as popular as Scott Pilgrim; even sillier that I'm reading it more than a decade after its release (I haven't watched the movie! #shame).
Here's my honest review: Cute. Silly. Subtly funny. Nothing mind-blowing, but definitely entertaining. Seemed a little bit like a prequel more than a standalone book, but maybe that's the point?
Will pick up the next book soon! (And by soon I mean later.)

It's cute enough. I'll continue with the series, but I hope it gets better as it goes.
Oh gosh do I love Scott Pilgrim! This is in the realm of what I aspire to write. Definition of best thing ever.
