4.5/5 - “Because when a man says, ‘I’m going home’, he should be heading for the sea.” Colleen has done it yet again with this book. I think this book had probably some of the best quotes she has ever written. They hit right at home and what I needed to read at the moment.
Colleen Hoover ist schon seit Jahren überall zu sehen, von vielen geliebt und von vielen zerrissen. Das hier war mein erstes Buch von ihr; ich wollte es mal wieder mit einem Hörbuch versuchen (normalerweise fält es mir schwer, zuzuhören), wollte etwas lockeres testen und fand das hier aus Libby. Ich hab mir nicht besonders viel erwartet, vermutlich weil die Autorin online so oft kritisiert wird und ihre Bücher oder Romanzen als "problematisch" bezeichnet werden, doch es hat mir recht gut gefallen. Ich fand die Protagonistin recht in Ordungen, den Loveiterest sympathisch und auch die Nebencharaktere. Zwar kommt die Protagonistin aus einem Zuhause mit einer drohenabhängigen Mutter und einer schweren Kindheit, was auch ein Thema durch das Buch hindurch ist, dennoch ist das eher eine Nebensache und der Fokus liegt für mich auf der Liebesgeschichte und auf der Weiterentwicklung der Protagonistin.

This really made me want to go to the beach, this is a wonderful summer read.
