I really enjoyed the book up until the ending, which I felt was really weird. I won't add any spoilers, but it definitely dropped my rating of the book.

I LOVED the characters in this. If there was one character I could relate to it was Lin Yu because I too would 100% do anything for Lin Wanyue. I barely had Lin Wanyue for five chapters before she completely stole my heart. Her genuine love for the princess had my heart doing flips.

The story itself was where it lost a few points for me. I enjoyed the slow pace and the romance but the political elements was where the author lost me. There were plenty of moments where I caught myself skimming or just completely skipping.
