I like to see men make shitty decisions, and then suffer because of them, and this book was 95% it.
I misled myself into thinking one side-side character was gay, and I was so upset I almost gave it 2 stars. Turns out, in 2012, partners were referring to business partners instead of romantic ones.
However, by the end of it, I felt bad that I forgot Cape Town was in South Africa, so I gave it back that ⭐, out of shame.

Not many books have made me want to turn someone's head inside out, put red ants inside it, put hot scalding pepper on top of them and then put the person under the burning heat of summer in full winter clothes as much as this one.

It was good and bad at the same time. Honestly the couple really stressed me out; they need to improve on their communication skills.
