A little preachy, as can be expected, but it all tied in with the mystery this time, so at least it was relevant. I like that Cooper is more involved in the stories lately.

This was my first book from this author and I actually really liked it. It's calming, easily read and the various animal appearances are cute.

After reading British Lit, this book is a walk in the park, but still nice for a cozy mystery. Going to try out her earlier works next.

Comfortable audio featuring Harry Harristeen and all of your favorite Crozet characters. There's still some agenda pushing and the mystery is not as strong as it could be. Not a book that will get anyone into the series.

I read so many Rita Mae Brown (& Sneaky Pie Brown) books as a child. Imagine my surprise to learn in a women's lit course that she was ACTUALLY an iconic lesbian author and the talking cats and corgis came second. I picked this up as an adult expecting to find the silly dialogue I'd loved when I was 10 with a new eye for queer subtext and it was just... not living up to either expectation.
