A wonderful little book. I had no idea it took place in West Virginia; having just driven through the state, that was pretty cool to discover. 😊

Good kid story about animal cruelty.

This is a great book about a boy and his dog. You really see how much Marty loves his dog and is willing to do almost anything for him. A sweet story with a happy ending. :)

I bet people who love dogs love this book.

I am a cat person.

Another reread with a group of fourth-graders. We had great conversations about lying and the differences between right and wrong.
