Intelligent space-opera, albeit with some one-sided characters. I am thrilled for book #2
wow a mammoth. Think this is the longest book Ive read. This was really great tho, what a joy to spend 6 weeks with the same characters and world.
I really loved this especially the second half. It was a little bit tough going in the first half as I felt the start of every chapter took the energy out of the book. am I even ready for the sequel

Ok, my bias towards pre-2010 sci-fi was proven so wrong with this book. Enjoyed it, elements of space epics, politics and intrigue, a bit of Douglas Adams absurdity and surprisingly built-out characters, I lol forward to when I have to time to actually get through the second one.
