I’m a big JLA fan! And as someone who re-read the Lux series around four times I was excited for Luc’s story. JLA did not disappoint with this book. I think it took some time to get really into the meat of the story. We get some answers toward the end of the book and let me tell you, I did NOT expect what happened to happen. JLA how could you do this to us??

We get charming, sarcastic, witty banter between Evie and Luc. There moments were together heartwarming and had me cheesing hard. We get a little bit deeper into Luc and his feelings and past with the Daedalus.

I was also happy to see some familiar faces. A pregnant Katy

Review:The world really opened up in this book which realistically just opened us up to more questions but I felt like the history and world itself expanded in this book. While this book mainly built up the world and answered some questions from book one the main aspect was Evie's internal conflict which made the book not feel slow or unnecessary and I really enjoyed the mental aspect of the story. The constant secrets opening up to more secrets was a bit annoying towards the end and I will say the main 'twist' was obvious to me.

This book was a rollercoaster of suspense and emotions. Everytime you thought you were in the clear another plottwist hit and you didn't even know where up and down was.

I'm not going to say anything about the storyline cause that would spoil the book for you, it's best to go in without knowing anything.

So at first I thought it was a bit slow but that was actually needed to built up the tension and to get to the events that later on happened. Cause at around 55% I didn't even know what hit me. One wtf moment after the other. When you thought: "phew that has to be it" another huge thing happened.
And the worst of it all? You don't even see it coming and are completely suprised by it.

A lot of dark things are happening in this book but as always Jennifer manages to light up the mood and mix her typical humor in. So you get to feel all the feels, from laughing out loud to being super sad.

Evie is even more badass than before and I can't believe how strong she is and deals with everything.
While Luc is typical Luc as we know and love him.
Though both characters really develop during this book and you get to see sides of them that you've never seen before. Plus their relationship is the cutest thing ever.

Another thing I really loved was that we get to see more of some old favorite characters from the Lux series. This really made my day to get some of the old dynamics and banter back while mixed in with the new characters.

The writing was as always A plus and you didn't realize how fast you were reading and got captured by the story. And damn this is a big book.
So all in all this was a perfect second book and I am not okay with how it ended and that I have to wait another year or so to know what will happen next.

I boy!! I'm not sure where to start with this..

I was waiting for this book I don't know for how long.. and when I got it in my kindle, was just awesome..

When I read the first book of luc I was a little bit disappointed because I was expecting a little bit more.. but this second book, was much more of what I was expecting..

The plot of this book is just blow mind.. while I was reading the book gives you the opportunity to create your own theories.. and it's not predictable at all..

This book made me cry, laugh, love.. and a bunch of other other things. That I can only say.. everybody need to read it..

This book has the potential of become your favorite book ever!

Fast and Furious just finished, review will change. What can I say except I love Lux more now than ever and Evie/Nadia....badass! Also, that ending, oh JLA, why do you do this to us?

What is with JL Armentrout and death.

description

When I read her books I just need to remind myself not to get too close to any characters. Everyone is free game. Good sequel. Slower beginning but then picked up. In fact, there was non stop action. I felt like I was running a marathon! This series stays really close to the Lux series. The book just gives off the same vibes (which it should bc it is in the same world).

SPOILERS >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Honestly, the worst death has to be Kent right? I mean you don't end up caring for the mom. Kent brought a humor to a mostly serious group. Now I fear everything is going to be non-stop serious. And his death was so quick!

In fact, everything started happening so quickly. From the middle of the book to the end things kept popping up. I didn't understand why Evie went back to school at all. Any time she was ever alone she was attacked. She needed to just lie low, but after every attack everyone just tried to go back to normal. I found that odd. There were no breaks.

The ending was a little disappointing. I don't like the fact that Dasher is still alive. He just seems like such a lame villain. Also, when they say that Evie was meant for Luc, does that mean that Daedelus picked her up off the streets and made sure Paris found her? How did they orchestrate all of that. It seems a little far-fetched to me.

It is interesting to see all of the previous characters in this one. You usually see cameos, but they were here for a lot of it. It is a bit odd. It's weird to have Katy in the story and not have her be the main character.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I did see the series going in a different direction when I first heard about it, so I am a little disappointed because it seems so much like the later Lux novels, but it was still enjoyable. Either way, I will keep reading as long as Luc is in the picture.

What an addition to the Lux world! I thoroughly enjoyed this book. After not loving the first one, I was nervous to see where this one would take us, but I should never have doubted Jennifer Armentrout.

Armentrout delivers and then some. Luc and Evie's relationship really moves forward and evolves, especially as new issues and enemies arise, and I loved every moment. Some fan favorites also made an appearance and made my heart happy. I just want to go back to the beginning, back to Obsidian all those years ago, and immerse myself back in this world. I'm going to have to really work on being patient for the next book. It's gonna be awhile. *sobs*

Hi, yes, I am trash for JLA and everything she writes. I'm obsessed with this series it's soooo good and I'm loving all of the cameos from the Lux characters omg.
