I liked some of the philosophical questions put forward in this one, but they didn't really expand on them as much as I would have liked. Hoping the film tackles those themes a little better; I can definitely see why Bong Joon Ho in particular was chosen to adapt this one. I mostly liked how it jumped back and forth between periods of time but sometimes it broke up the action too much. I'm glad I read it before watching the movie!

dare i say the movie was better 🫣 it's a fun premise and i actually enjoyed the worldbuilding parts a lot but there isn't quite as much happening in the story as you'd expect with a concept like this. the focus is more on the question of mickey's existence and sense of self which is still interesting but i'd hoped for more action. still an enjoyable quick sci-fi read though, and the audiobook was easy to listen to.
