This was a quick creepy read. I couldn't read it at night. It did fall short in middle bits for me, but not enough that I didn't want to read it. Please look up trigger warnings!
Seed builds such a creepy, spine tingling atmosphere as it goes on until the final pages fill you with dread. I loved this book. Jack's character held my sympathy and frustrated me in the best way. While I wish he had told Aimee the truth, the demon stopping him each time built the suspense and tension so well. I also felt that his reactions and evasion was perfectly characterized as a man with mystery childhood demon trauma.
A lot of elements felt familiar and I definitely saw the twist concerning his parents coming from a mile away, but still, the build up to that reveal was so good.
I wish we knew more about the demon- did Jack get it from the graveyard or his mother?
All in all, I really enjoyed it, and the unanswered questions only add to its charm.

Scary, hard to put down, and down right evil. Something about family haunting a that is just that much more sinister especially when it’s a young child. Did NOT expect Charlie to kill her sister and father, and I definitely thought they might be able to escape in the end but nope! Short read but just as thrilling as a long one. The audio book was great and I enjoyed the voice actor a lot. Though animal deaths in books always make me unreasonably sad.

It felt like it was building up towards some great twist or ending, but unfortunately did not happen. Ending was mid. Like why did I even read this? Maybe I missed something? Idk, it was entertaining but definitely left me unsatisfied.
Seed was creepy and made my bones itch.
What I enjoyed about Seed was that it gave me Insidious vibes, which as one of my favourite horror films of all time, is always a win for me. Child possession is not a fresh new concept in horrors by any means, but I enjoyed the way this was written and how Charlie’s demeanour shifted throughout the story. There are some pretty dark themes in this book, which is to be expected with a horror but the ending genuinely made my stomach churn.
However I do feel like what marred this book for me was that although it’s relatively short, it felt repetitive at times. There’s lots of scratching noises at night, Jack can’t sleep, and then it’s breakfast time.
For a quick, unsettling and gory read, Seed hit the mark. I would like to read more by this author for sure.

It had some creepy moments. It was a fun ghost story kind of deal, for me. And a very quick read. It was the kind of story I was looking for and I recommend it to anyone looking for a quality "campfire tale".
