I’m officially convinced Ania Ahlborn does NOT believe in happy endings. This one is up there with Brother! I loved it!
I wasn't the biggest fan of this book. It is the slowest of slow burns. I mean, it was more of a light simmer than a burn. The author was trying to build up the suspense, but for most of it, my reaction was "so what?" I will say that the 3rd act was very compelling, and finally got me invested in the story, since the author finally decided to pull out all the stops. I will say that I have another book by this author on my shelf, which I do plan on reading soonish. For a first novel, this did show some flashes of promise, so I'm willing to give this author one more try.
This started off as what felt like the exorcism but then it just kept getting better. It kinda reminded of a Supernatural episode
I've only watched In The Tall Grass by Stephen King but that's what came into my mind when I finished reading this. It's not bad, but I would have loved to know the history behind everything.

⭐ There’s Something Here
Not my favorite, but I can't give it a flat poor review, the author has spark. There were things I liked about it and I think in the future, I’d be open to trying this author again.
A ballsy ending, I'll say that.

I don't understand the hype on this one. I like the concept but it lacked the atmosphere and tone that makes folk horror special.
