This plot was weird and slow and then gets thrown on you avalanche style at the end, very rushed and felt like the author was scrambling to tie up loose ends. She also spent wayyyy too much time on Lucien’s backstory when she could have been developing a foundation for a relationship between he and Isa, which I really think this book lacks.

Re-read. I really enjoyed this a second time around. It was a great story that had a layer of darkness and great smut. I’d rate this 4/4.5 stars in my second read.
Keri Lake really should just take all my money, no one sets a vibe like she does!

That’s it I’m obsessed with anything Keri Lake writes! This book is everything: mysterious, suspenseful, spicy, hopeful. I loved it. It has phantom of the opera/beauty and the beast/50 shades of grey vibes all in one and I’m here for all of it. It pulls at your heart and gives you to satisfaction all in one. Amazing read!
Well damn. Lake you had me second guessing my life choices the whole first half but you pulled through in the latter half and what a ride that was. How to describe this book? Beauty and the beast-esque mind fuckery?? Got a lot more than I bargained for in this one. I found a lot of the twists pretty predictable (either I'm getting good at this guessing game or it was just a fairly straight forward plot) but jeez that last one had me like:
