I loved it.
Kerri Lake wrote some beautiful imagery into this book. It was a story that I am confident will stay with me for a while. The humor was macabre, the plot was dark and incredibly intense but also well written. The content left me needing a break occasionally, but it also didn’t stop me from reading it in two days flat. I was constantly dissecting the plot trying to figure out where it was going, and I was wrong on so many occasions. The twists and turns really did sneak up to shock me.

Honestly don’t know how I feel about this book. While there are parts of it that I loved, I feel like overall the vibe and “villain” of the story was not watch I expected at all.
This was a forbidden romance, age gap, and morally grey romance, that has undertones of Phantom of the Opera and Beauty and the Beast sprinkled with BDSM.
There are a few things going on in this book that I didn’t expect, mainly like Schadenfreude. I honestly didn’t expect how big of a roll pain would play in this book, and I was a little thrown off by the whole aspect and underlying plot because of it.
Overall it was a decent book, but I wouldn’t read it again.

Sexy and spicier than I thought!
This book deals with a lot of trauma and is surprisingly spicier than I thought. I would classify it as a dark romance over a romantasy but it’s still very good. It was hard to predict what would happen next and the male MC is swoonworthy. Totally didn’t see the twist coming at the end of the book either with who was actually calling the shots. I’d say 4/5 stars for me and 4/5 spice rating.

Definitely very sexy but I'm particular about age gaps and this one didn't do it for me. The dark subjects were way amplified and that felt unnecessary. Good enough for a four star review.

Good slow burn romance. 2-3 steamy sections in the whole book. trope of bad boy that needs saving by the perfect for him woman. Some light rough play in the steam but vanilla rough.

Overall enjoyable read but at many times quite predictable. I did like the characters but it felt like they very too infatuated with each other too soon. Also a lot of unresolved endings with that secret society that's a bit unsatisfying. Was good, but compared to other books from this author (mainly Nocticadia which was easily a 5 star read for me) it didn’t hold up to that.
There were so many twists and turns, super entertaining read!
