picked this up because I love mythology. was not disappointed.
i wasn't too sure how I felt about the writing style at first, but the 3rd person omnipotent telling a story worked for this story and was done well, I think. really liked casiopea, really found martín to be flat as f---.
I also enjoy parallels between characters and stories so the parallels between both the cousins and the siblings, and other myths and this story.

i love the idea of immortals losing that immortality and it changing who they are. sucker for it. and thought the author pulled off breaking my heart with it very well.

This book took me a long time to rate, and I think that the main issue for me was the writing. The writing was very similar to the way that fairy tales are supposed to be written, but the beauty of a fairy tale is that it‘s relatively short and not 330ish pages long. On the other hand, I really enjoyed the story which kept me hooked, and I did get really invested in the characters. This is not a very coherent review, so I‘m going to stop here, but 3.5. I don‘t have much more to say.
